Less than 4 weeks to go until the marathon! I have just completed my longest run to date - 16 miles, so not feeling too good at the moment. Still no rest for the wicked, back at work in the afternoon moaning that everything is aching and as for the blisters, don't get me started! Thanks to Tash for reminding me I have a further 10 miles to go. I have recovered from my assult by the Alsatian. The bruise has gone on my backside which amused everyone at work. Funny now but a little concerning when it was just me and the dog! Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me so far. This marathon business is about as difficult as I expected, and then more! If you would like to sponsor me, I am running for MS Society http://www.justgiving.com/kbarton. |

After a couple of drinks during a England's dominating victory over Australia at Edgbaston, I mentioned that I would like to run the London Marathon. To my surprise Craig agreed and we foolishly sent off the forms. Months passed and nothing was heard, we presumed the best, we hadn't got in, then there was the phone call - 'we have two spaces available, are you two still up for it!'. A quick chat with Craig and it was agreed, we will be running the London Marathon! Now comes the training and the fund raising. I have chose to run for the MS Society .............. if you would like to help me with the latter please visit http://www.justgiving.com/kbarton. Just so we are all clear, training starts tomorrow!

| Pattern Problems | 29/05/2003 |
| For the very patient customers awaiting Foden 3" rear wheels and Prairie cylinder blocks, the new core prints are due back next week, so patterns will be sent to the foundries immediately | |

| Price Increases | 29/05/2003 |
| Having examined the 'old' Reeves pricing structure on castings it would appear that it was largely based on complexity of pattern - especially in the Don Young Range. Today foundries are charging on a weight basis except in a few cases of multi cored patterns such as Paddington & King cylinder blocks. Thus we have decided to weigh and re-cost every casting (we have done over 6000 so far!) This has resulted in some items, such as larger wheels, more than doubling. In most cases we have capped this increase at 100% as we feel we cannot pass on such a great increase. To note, some other items, particularly in the Don Young range have come down. We accept this is no consolation to those not on these models. | |

| Axleboxes in the Don Young range | 29/05/2003 |
| Many of these are subject to a very high price increase, yet much of the product is to be wasted once machined. We are going to re-examine these patterns to help reduce these costs | |
